Reset Password for IP Camera
Many Dahua IP cameras include a recessed RESET button hidden beneath the SD card slot. This is often the fastest way to reset the password and revert to factory defaults.
Steps to follow:
1. Move the camera close to the recorder and use a short patch lead to connect the camera with the NVR.
2. Open the SD card cover and locate the tiny RESET hole or button.
3. Insert a small, non-metallic pin (e.g., toothpick) or your finger and hold the button down.
4. Continue holding the reset button for between 30-60 seconds until the camera’s indicator light blinks or changes state.
5. Release the button and allow the camera to reboot. Once it restarts, the camera will reset to default.
Note: This process also restore factory setting, erasing all configuration customisation.
Reset Password for NVR
Noted that when the NVR is reset and the new password is setup, if you have cameras that was connected to the NVR, you need to reset the cameras as well since they usually have taken the old password from the recorder.
Steps to follow:
1. Power off the NVR.
2. Open the NVR cover and locate the reset button. Press and hold the reset button.

3. Power on the NVR
4. Keep the reset button press for 5 to 10 seconds. This will reset the NVR to its factory default setting.
5. Release the reset button. You'll see the initialisation screen and be asked to set up again.
Other Option is reset through DMSS app:
Note: This step required email address when the recorder is set up initially.
