Product FAQs

1. Does this kit include everything needed to start recording straight away?
No. The kit includes 8 x 6MP cameras and the DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ NVR. You will need a hard drive for recording, a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable to connect each camera to the NVR, and a monitor or television for on-site playback. Remote viewing via the DMSS app is available once the NVR is connected to your router.

2. Does this system record continuously or only when motion is detected?
The NVR supports both continuous 24/7 recording and motion-triggered recording. You can also schedule different recording modes for different times of the day through the NVR settings.

3. Does this system work without an internet connection?
Yes. The system records locally to the hard drive without an internet connection. Internet is only required if you want remote viewing through the DMSS app, receive motion notifications, or access the system while away from your property.

4. Can multiple people access the cameras?
Yes. Multiple users can view the cameras through the DMSS app. The NVR administrator can create separate user accounts with different permission levels if required.

5. What happens during a power outage?
Recording will stop while power is unavailable. Once power is restored, the NVR and cameras automatically restart and resume recording according to their configured schedule.

6. Will I receive notifications when motion is detected?
Yes. After configuring the NVR and DMSS app, the system can send push notifications to your smartphone when supported AI or motion events occur.

7. Does the NVR make any noise?
The NVR is quite loud due to the fan running to cool down the system. Its recommended that the customer installed the NVR away from the bedroom and in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating and ensure reliable long-term operation.
