Each camera also features Dahua WizSense AI with Smart Motion Detection (SMD), accurately distinguishing people and vehicles from non-threatening movement such as trees, rain, insects and animals to reduce false alarms. The 8MP (4K Ultra HD) Warm Light cameras capture exceptionally detailed video during the day and provide full-colour night vision in low-light environments, making it easier to identify faces, clothing, vehicles and other important details. The 4K AI Network Video Recorder (NVR) securely stores recorded footage and supports live viewing, playback and instant event notifications through the Dahua DMSS mobile app, allowing remote access from compatible smartphones and tablets. Product FAQs

1. Does this kit include everything needed to start recording straight away?
No. The kit includes 8 x 8MP cameras and the DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ NVR. You will need a hard drive for recording, a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable to connect each camera to the NVR, and a monitor or television for on-site playback. Remote viewing via the DMSS app is available once the NVR is connected to your router.

2. Do these cameras record in colour at night?
Yes, when motion is detected. The Smart Dual Light system activates warm light LEDs on detection, producing full-colour night footage at the moment it matters. During quiet periods without motion, the cameras revert to IR mode for discreet low-level monitoring, preserving warm light LED lifespan while maintaining continuous coverage.

3. Are these cameras suitable for outdoor installation in Australian conditions?
Yes. Each DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ carries an IP67 weatherproof rating, providing full protection against dust ingress and tolerance of temporary water immersion. This makes the turret cameras suitable for exposed eave, fence, and carport mounting across all Australian climates, including coastal and tropical environments with high humidity and heavy rainfall.

4. Does this system record continuously or only when motion is detected?
The NVR supports both continuous 24/7 recording and motion-triggered recording. You can also schedule different recording modes for different times of the day through the NVR settings.

5. What Ethernet cable do I need to connect the cameras to the NVR?
Cat5e is the minimum requirement for reliable PoE data and power delivery. Cat6 is recommended for new installations, as it provides additional headroom for interference rejection over longer cable runs and supports future hardware upgrades without rewiring. Each camera requires a single Ethernet cable run back to the NVR, with a maximum PoE distance of 100 meters per run.

6. What happens during a power outage?
Recording will stop while power is unavailable. Once power is restored, the NVR and cameras automatically restart and resume recording according to their configured schedule.

7. Can I use this system without a monitor?
Yes. After the initial setup, many users operate the system entirely through the DMSS app. A monitor is recommended for initial configuration and local playback.
